Phase 1 of Charles City Swimming Pool Study Not Complete Yet

A study to determine the future of the Lions Field Swimming Pool in Charles City is underway.

Park-Rec Director Tyler Mitchell says Phase 1 of the study, which will give the City an assessment on how to best fix the current pool, now over 30 years old, is still a couple of weeks from completion. However, he says JEO Consulting has provided some initial feedback.

Mitchell adds the City and Park-Rec Board will take the findings on renovating the current pool under consideration before deciding whether to proceed with Task 2 of the study, which would then evaluate the possibility of building a new pool, taking into account cost and location among other factors.
