EMS Advisory Council Hosts Town Hall Meeting Sunday Evening in Rudd
The Floyd County EMS Advisory Council Sunday evening will host its first town hall meeting for October in advance of November’s vote on a resolution to declare emergency medical services (EMS) as essential services.
If the measure is approved, it would allow the County to use a combination of a property tax and income surtax to raise up to $556,000 a year for 10 years, with revenue going to fund the various ambulances and first responders who provide service in the County.
The EMS Council has scheduled a series of town halls to educate voters how the resolution works, what it means to future EMS services, and how the tax could be assessed.
Sunday night’s public meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Rudd Fire Station.
Other meetings this week include a 7 p.m. town hall Monday at the Rockford Fire Station and 7 p.m. Thursday at the NIACC Center in Charles City.
