Northeast Iowans Score a Combined $75,000 in Iowa Lottery Winnings 

Northeast Iowans have scored big Iowa Lottery winnings within the last two weeks totaling $75,000.

Lottery officials say Dustin Chatfield of Cresco won a $20,000 prize with the “Word Search” InstaPlay game after he purchased his winning ticket at Cresco Mart in Cresco.

Word Search is a $20 game that features 25 top prizes of $100,000 and 75 prizes of $20,000.

Jason Thoren of Tripoli won a $25,000 prize in the Iowa Lottery’s “The Perfect Gift” scratch game. Thoren, who drives a semi, purchased his winning ticket at Casey’s in Britt, about 30 miles west of Mason City. He said he continued to run his loads and his face actually hurt because he couldn’t stop smiling. 

The Perfect Gift is a $20 scratch game that features 13 top prizes of $25,000 and 16 prizes of $10,000.

Joan Beard of Waterloo won $30,000 recently with the lottery’s “Merry Money” scratch game after purchasing her winning ticket at Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits on Logan Avenue in Waterloo. 

Merry Money is a $3 scratch game that features nine top prizes of $30,000.
