Another Search Warrant, Another Two Oelwein People Arrested on Drug Charges

Another search warrant results in two more people arrested on felony drug charges in Oelwein.

With assistance from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol, the Oelwein Police Department executed a search warrant in the 10 block of 5th Street Northwest at about 3 pm Wednesday (04.26) afternoon. Illegal controlled substances were located and seized and 44-year-old Aaron James and 57-year-old Amanda James, both of Oelwein, were arrested.

Aaron James is charged with gathering where controlled substances are used and for being in dominion/control of firearm/offensive weapon by a felon. He also faces one count of possession of methamphetamine – second offense, and possession of marijuana – second offense, plus possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts.

Amanda James was charged with gathering where controlled substances are used; possession of meth and marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Further charges are pending.

It was the third such search conducted by Oelwein Police in less than two weeks.

On April 19th, OPD arrested 42-year-old Esteban Carrasco and 27-year-old Keith Peebles, both of Oelwein, on felony drug charges including possession of morphine and intent to deliver cocaine and marijuana.

On April 15th, 56-year-old Brad Drewelow and 57-year-old Gary Wright, also both of Oelwein, were arrested on multiple felony drug charges including intent to deliver, plus possession of meth, marijuana and prescription drugs.
