Trial Dates Set for North Iowa Man Facing Child Sex Crimes in Two Counties

 A north Iowa man, facing over a half-dozen child sex abuse charges in two counties, has now pleaded not guilty to all charges against him. 

65-year-old Douglas Warburton of Northwood is charged with three counts of exhibition of obscene material to a minor in Mitchell County. He’s also charged with second-degree sex abuse, third-degree sex abuse, lascivious acts with a child, and indecent contact with a child in Worth County .

Court documents accuse Warburton of showing pornographic videos to a child at least three times in St. Ansgar and had sexual contact with the child in Northwood. The acts are alleged to have started in May of 2019 and continued until recently.

Last month, Warburton pleaded not guilty in Worth County and his trial date was set for September 13th.  Tuesday (08.01), he pleaded not guilty in Mitchell County and his trial date has been set for September 27th. 

Mitchell County Attorney Aaron Murphy is to prosecute Warburton for the alleged crimes in both counties.
