*Cancelled* Hunter Education Field Day Course
March 28, 2020 - 9:00 am until 1:30 pmnone
Iowa Law requires that anyone born after January 1, 1972 must be certified in Hunter Education before they are eligible to purchase an Iowa Hunting License.
There are two methods to obtain a Hunter License. 1) A classroom instruction and a field day or 2) an online course and a field day. A prospective student should visit the Iowa DNR website to determine which format would meet their needs in obtaining their hunter education certificate. An online student is encouraged to enroll and complete the online course well ahead of the field day event.
For a person to use the online/field day course for the certification they must first complete the DNR online Hunter Education course (there is a cost) and secure a voucher showing successful completion of the course. The voucher must be presented at the beginning of field day.
To get started go to the Iowa DNR website (iowadnr.gov). Once you are at the website select hunting and follow the prompts that take you to the online course. And the the location to register for a field day. Upon successful completion of the online course and the field day a person will receive a hunter education certificate.
