Floyd County Museum Branches Out Into Community

The Floyd County Museum is extending its footprint in the community.

Museum Director Mckenna Lloyd says, to help First Security Bank in Charles City commemorate its 120-year history, the museum’s first-ever “pop up” exhibit is now on display in the bank’s lobby.

Lloyd says exhibit artifacts  at First Security include bank deposit bags, a mini-clever handed out as a bank promotional item in 1978, and one piece that’s over 100 years old.

Lloyd also reminds the public that the museum is still accepting donations for their Spring Rummage Sale this Saturday. Items may be dropped off at the museum during regular hours, which are 9 am to 4 pm Wednesday through Saturday.

For more info on the rummage sale or about having a pop up exhibit at your business or organization in Floyd County, call the museum at 641-228-1099 or visit the Floyd County Museum Facebook page.
