Event Details

New Hampton Poppy Day–Friday May 21

Each year, the American Legion and Auxiliary members raise funds through the distribution of the symbolic red poppies to support active-duty military, veterans, and their families. The red poppy has become a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since World War I to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars.

Volunteers do not sell poppies-they “distribute” them, with the request that the person receiving the poppy make a donation to the poppy fund to support the American Legion Family veteran outreach programs. One hundred percent of the donations collected directly support the needs of veterans, military and their families.

New Hampton’s Poppy Day will be Friday May 21. Volunteers will be stationed at Klunders, Kwik Star East and West, Theisens, and Fareway. Other volunteers will be canvassing other businesses in the New Hampton area.
The New Hampton American Legion Family would like to encourage and thank everyone to participate in the Poppy Day event.
