North Iowa Pass-Through, Meeting Towns Gear Up for RAGBRAI 2022

North Iowa communities serving as pass-through and meeting towns along this year’s RAGBRAI routes are looking for community input in preparation for the arrival of upwards of 15,000 bicyclists this July.

Ionia RAGBRAI 2022 hosted an information meeting Wednesday (04.13) night at City Hall.  Residents attending received for initial details on getting organized for the riders to pass-through Ionia on July 29th. 

Monday, April 18th, the City of Lawler will host a RAGBRAI Community Meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall looking for ideas, thoughts and volunteers to “make Lawler great like last time.” Lawler will serve as a meeting town for riders and their support crews on July 29th. 

There are also RAGBRAI informational meetings on Wednesday, April 20th, at 6 p.m. at the Community Halls in both Waucoma and Hawkeye as they prepare to be pass-throughs for riders July 29th on their way to West Union and the final overnight stay on this year’s route. West Union RAGBRAI also has a public meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 20th from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Dance Pavilion on the Fayette County Fairgrounds.

The Rockford Ragbrai Committee has a community planning meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 27th, at 7 p.m. at the Rockford Community Center.  Any business, organization, group or people who are interested in having a liquor, food and/or vending spot should attend. Rockford will be a pass-through town on July 28th after RAGBRAI leaves Mason City and on their way to the overnight stay that night in Charles City.

Marble Rock will serve as a meeting town on the path to Charles City on July 28th and their RAGBRAI committee has been meeting on a weekly basis as part of their preparation.
