Charles City’s “Party in the Park” Goes “Beyond Green” with Tynan’s Recycling Friday

While not an official “Fourth of July” event, “Party in the Park” (PIP) will kick off the holiday weekend in Charles City.

Now in its 20th year, the second “PIP” of the season is set for 5-to-9 pm Friday (06.30) night in Central Park.

Joanna Thompson is the Event Coordinator for Charles City Community Development. She says, with Tynan’s Recycling as the lead sponsor for the festivities Friday, the theme “Beyond Green” is a nod towards conservation efforts.

Tied into that concept, Thompson says food and beverage can be paid for with their new eco-tokens.

There will also be kids games and live music by BTDT, formerly Been There Done That, a four-piece pop rock band playing covers and originals.

Admission and entertainment is free.

Additional Party in the Parks are planned for July 14th and August 4th.
