Brush pickup by the Charles City Street Department is down to a couple of days.
City crews will make one FINAL pass this year for brush pick up through Wednesday (10.19). Residents are asked to place all branches near the curb in a pile.
The street department also has two scheduled leaf collection dates this fall. The first is slated for the week of October 24th and the second is scheduled for the week of November 14th. Citizens should rake leaves into the street 12 to 18 inches from the curb to allow for water to flow freely to the intakes, without plugging them.
The City also notes that the Shaw Ave Compost Site is open year round for Charles City residents to dispose of branches and yard waste.
