Annual Spookwalk Thursday (10.27) in Charles City

Inclement weather postponed it earlier this week, but a pre-Halloween tradition started in 1996 continues Thursday night in Charles City.

Kamryn Kronschnabel with the Charles City Public Library is also a committee member for Spookwalk 2022 and invites kids to don their costumes from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening.

After COVID forced the 2020 Spookwalk into a drive-by event, organizers had candy prepackaged for handouts to limit contact in 2021, but Kronschnabel says there are no restrictions in 2022.

Over a thousand kids are expected to turn out for the Spookwalk, which is free for kids. However, free will donations are accepted to help cover costs and keep it free for kids.

Contact the Charles City Chamber of Commerce for more information.

The forecast for Thursday evening calls for a mostly cloudy sky and temps in the low 50s.
