Cerwinske Selected Chair of Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors

The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors heads into the new year with a new chairman.

During their first meeting of 2024 on Tuesday (01.020morning, selecting the Boar chair was among the first action items. Matt Kuhn served in that position for two years, but that’s been long enough for him.

After Steven Breitbach nominated Scott Cerwinske, Cerwinske in turn nominated Breitbach and Kuhn nominated Travis Suckow.

Jacob Hackman, at times an outspoken critic of Kuhn, nominated Kuhn to remain as Board Chair, which caught Kuhn off guard.

Last April, Hackman’s criticism of Kuhn’s leadership led to a vote for a possible change in the chair, but Kuhn remained in place.

On Tuesday, Cerwinske was selected unanimously as Board chair for 2024, with Breitbach named vice-chair.

Cerwinske took office as a County Supervisor last January.
