Charles City School Superintendent Suspended

Investigation Underway

Charles City School Superintendent, Dr. Anne Lundquist, has been placed on paid administrative leave.

According to an email addressed to all school teachers and staff sent Friday afternoon, the district has begun an investigation into allegations alleging behavior “that raises questions about Dr. Lundquist’s fitness for duty and ability to serve as an employee of the Charles City Community School District.”  The email was sent by school board president, David Schrodt, MD.

The email indicated that the district’s attorney will be directing the investigation and that the district will receive a temporary Superintendent with the Central Rivers AEA to serve while Doctor Lundquist is on leave.  It also indicated that further information will be provided as appropriate.

Lundquist began serving as interim superintendent on July 1st, 2022. On February 1st of this year, Lundquist announced she would resign at the end of this school year.
