Memorial Day Remembrance at Charles City VFW, Flag Volunteers Needed

The public is invited to the Memorial Day program Monday (05.27) morning at the VFW in Charles City.

Post commander Denny Hull says the Remembrance Program to honor fallen veterans will begin at 11 am on the VFW lawn.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. In the event of inclement weather, ceremonies will be moved inside the VFW banquet hall. A free will donation lunch of pork loin, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables will follow the program.

In advance of Memorial Day, Hull says volunteers are needed to help placed flags on graves of fallen veterans in Charles City Friday (05.24) morning.

Volunteers are asked to report to the VFW at 9 am Friday morning. In the event of inclement weather, flag placement will be moved to Saturday (05,25).
