Davenport Man Arrested in Floyd County on OWI, Harassment Charges

A Davenport man is facing OWI and harassment charges in north Iowa.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office says a vehicle was pulled over for speeding on Highway 18 near Rudd just after 9 p.m. Friday night, leading to the arrest of 39-year-old Dustin Ward for first-offense OWI, a serious misdemeanor. According to the criminal complaints, Ward was also charged with interference with official acts after he refused several requests to exit his vehicle and after he finally did, resisted additional commands before being placed in handcuffs.

Court documents also accuse Ward of threatening to harm the son of the arresting deputy while he was being booked into the Floyd County Jail. That resulted in an additional charge of second-degree harassment, a serious misdemeanor.

Ward was also cited for driving while license denied, suspended, canceled or revoked, open container, improper use of lanes, and speeding for going 80 mph in a 65 mph zone.
