Infamous “No Right Turn On Red” in New Hampton Modified for Elementary School

The New Hampton School District will open the new school year with the first day of classes on Tuesday.

In addition to the regular alerts to be aware of students walking to and from school, Mayor Bobby Schwickerath notes a change for motorists near New Hampton Elementary School, where “No Right Turn on Red” signs at the intersection of Main Street and Linn Avenue have been modified.

Schwickerath says, other than the school hours, the “No Right Turn on Red” restriction will no longer be in effect at that intersection.

It’s also the first day of school for Central Springs, Turkey Valley, Howard-Winneshiek, North Butler, Sumner-Fredericksburg, Clarksville, St. Ansgar, and 6th through 12th graders at Nashua-Plainfield.
