Future of Wildwood Golf Clubhouse in Charles City Still to be Determined
Wildwood Municipal Golf Course hosted the 26th Annual Chamber Golf Outing in Charles City Wednesday.
Park-Rec Director Tyler Mitchell says the course has also been hosting more golfers in recent years thanks to promotions like couples night and wine night. There’s also a positive impact thanks to COVID.
Mitchell says golf membership has risen from about 180 three to four years ago to almost 250 this year.
More golfers also means more visitors to the Wildwood Clubhouse, which is showing its age after being built some 100 years ago. Mitchell says City officials will need to determine if they renovate the current facility or build a new one.
Mitchell says they’re still gathering information on whether to proceed with hiring a company to do a study of the clubhouse.
