Osage Murder Suspect Could Change Plea

An Osage man, accused of killing a north Iowa woman over two years ago, appears to be ready to change his plea.
24-year-old Nathan Gilmore is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Angela Bradbury, a Cerro Gordo County woman last seen alive April 6, 2021. Her remains were later found in rural Mitchell County and confirmed to be Bradbury’s in February of 2022.
Gilmore has pleaded not guilty and, after he was granted a change of venue, his trial has been moved to Bremer County District Court and was scheduled to begin October 16th.
However, Monday (08.14), an order was approved indicating the State and the defense have requested a plea change hearing. Due to difficulties with scheduling court reporters, the hearing will be held at the Franklin County Courthouse in Hampton at 8:30 am on Thursday (08.17). The order does not include details as to what charge or charges Gilmore may plead guilty to.
The move comes in advance of an evidence suppression hearing scheduled for August 23rd in Mitchell County District Court.
Gilmore remains in the Mitchell County Jail in Osage, held on a $1 million bond.
