Stars & Stripes Renewal: Help Restore Charles City’s Street Light Pole American Flags & Hardware!
On Tuesday September 23, 2025 – KCHA presented the Stars & Stripes Renewal donations to the Charles City Patriotic Committee. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised over $2,100—surpassing our goal! These funds will be used to replace broken hardware and worn flags on the city street light poles across town. A huge thank-you to everyone who donated—none of this would be possible without your support. Together, we’re keeping Charles City’s flags waving strong and proud.

Here in Charles City, our American flags proudly wave along downtown light poles and major routes, symbolizing our community’s unity and patriotism. But many of these flags and their mounting hardware are worn out—rusted bands are breaking, brackets are snapping, and fewer flags are displayed each year. The inconsistent patchwork of flags detracts from the pride we take in our town.
KCHA is launching the Stars & Stripes Renewal fundraiser to fix this! Our goal is to raise $2,000 to replace dilapidated flags and hardware, ensuring a vibrant, consistent display across town. Any funds beyond immediate needs will be saved for future replacements. All donations will go directly to the American Legion and VFW in Charles City, who currently fund this effort, to be used exclusively for flag and hardware replacements.
