At 658 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen since this morning and up to 2 inches in the last hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Decorah, Calmar, Spillville, Fort Atkinson, St. Lucas, Nordness, Conover, Lake Meyer County Park, State Road 9 And 245th Street, Festina, County Roads W 20 And A 34 and Highway 52 And County W 34. Information: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. |

The line of thunderstorms and heavy rain has moved east of the area. No additional flooding threats are expected at this time, but ponding of water in low lying areas is possible. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northeast Iowa, including the following counties, Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette and Winneshiek and southeast Minnesota, including the following counties, Houston, Wabasha and Winona. * WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The threat for flooding is winding down. The heaviest rainfall has shifted east of the area.
