Latest Charles City “Town of Colors” Murals Nearing Completion

The latest murals for Charles City’s “Town of Colors” project are nearing completion.

Matt Litwin of Minneapolis has been painting a mural on the cement wall at the Charles City Whitewater course since last Friday. He says covering the surface has been a little challenging.

While he now lives in Minneapolis, Litwin has a Charles City connection.

Litwin’s mural is one of four murals to be painted this year in Charles City, but the only one with a deadline: be done in time for RAGBRAI.  Litwin says his mural should be completed by Sunday.

Meanwhile artist Britt Flood of North Carolina started this week painting her mural on the south side of the Wisconsin Street apartment complex facing Trinity United Methodist Church.

The Charles City Arts Center will host a public reception for both Litwin and Flood Friday (07.15) evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
