 With a host of high school graduations this weekend, Trooper Tom Williams with the Mason City District office of the Iowa State Patrol encourages safety for grad party hosts and students alike.
On Monday (05.20), the latest “Click It or Ticket†high-visibility seat belt enforcement campaign kicks in and runs through June 2nd, which encompasses Memorial Day Weekend.
One of this year’s “Click It or Ticket†focuses is night time enforcement, with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) data showing that a higher number of unrestrained passenger fatalities happen at night.
NHTSA also notes that in 2021, 54% of males killed in crashes were unrestrained while 42% of females killed were not buckled up.
