Construction on the eastbound lanes of the new Highway 218/18/27 interchange at Floyd has gone, for the most part, according to plan.
While the project continues to pace on schedule, Pete Hjelmstad with the DOT’s Mason City District Office says there have been hiccups like last week’s temporary shutdown of traffic in both directions while they made repairs on the west end of the head-to-head traffic pattern.
Hjelmstad is also reminding motorists to be patient in construction zones, whether the project is big or small.
Hjelmstad says two-lane traffic in both directions will return for the winter months and next spring, construction will begin on the westbound lanes.
