Charles City-Opoly Boards Could Go On Sale This Month

Charles City-opoly game boards could go on sale later this month.

The board games are a fundraiser for the accessible playground to be located at Sportsman’s Park on the north side of Charles City. The Park-Rec Department sold sponsorships to businesses who could purchase spots on the game board, which sold out in less than three days.

Park-Rec Director Tyler Mitchell says they hope to have the Charles City-opoly games available for purchase before the end of May.

The City is also seeking donations for additional playground features including double zip lines (one with an adaptive seat), wheelchair accessible merry-go-round, family restrooms with full-sized changing tables, updated sidewalks, and benches.

If you would like to donate to this project, please reach out to Tyler Mitchell at City Hall. Donations need to be turned in by Wednesday, May 29th.

Sponsorships and sales for the board games are expected bring in about $25,000 for the playground project.
