13th Charles City Rotary Radio Auction to Benefit Central Preschool

The 13th Charles City Rotary Radio Auction Saturday (02.04) will donate 50% of the proceeds to Central Preschool in Charles City. Iowa’s oldest preschool after being established in 1950.

Dusty Schmitt is co-director of Iowa’s oldest preschool established in 1950. She says money raised from the auction will go towards updating their playground.

Central Preschool serves children from ages three to five and Schmitt says getting your child into a preschool program at age three can serve as a good building block for a child’s development.

There will be a registration open house for new families from 4:30 to 6 pm this Tuesday, February 7th at Central Preschool, which is located in, but not affiliated with Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City.

The Rotary Radio Auction will feature over 100 items up for bid Saturday from 9 am to noon on 95.9 KCHA. Half of the proceeds will go to Central Preschool with the other half going to general Rotary community projects.

Last year’s auction was the most successful fundraiser ever for the event, bringing in almost $8,000.
