FCMC Clinic’s Urgent Care Adds Online Check In, Now Accepts Walk Ins

From Floyd County Medical Center

Charles City, IA – Residents of Floyd County and surrounding communities have new options when unexpected, acute health care needs arise.

Now you can Call, Walk In or Check In online for Urgent Care at Floyd County Medical Center (FCMC) Clinic.

“Our Urgent Care has transitioned to a First Come, First Served model; Patients can still call for same day visits, walk-in, and now schedule online. The new check-in online system allows patients to see their wait times from home, and avoid spending unnecessary time in the waiting room,” said Jonathan Perin, Interim Clinic & Urgent Care Director. “We continue to look for innovative ways to respond to our patients’ feedback, and we believe this will greatly improve access and convenience for those patients needing same day treatment.”

Formerly known as After Hours Care, FCMC Clinic’s Urgent Care is open 7 days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM.

“Floyd County Medical Center Clinic’s Urgent Care has been working to add providers and processes to accommodate Walk-Ins,” said Dawnet Willis, CEO. “We appreciate the public’s patience during the initial launch of this new service where same day appointment scheduling helped alleviate excessive wait time for patients.”

Urgent Care accommodates patients seeking treatment for mild and/or non-life threatening medical conditions. Willis says in emergency situations, patients should still go to Floyd County Medical Center’s Emergency Room which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

FCMC Clinic’s Urgent Care helps save patients time and money by avoiding a trip to the ER for acute care needs. Walk-Ins are welcome, check in online and see your wait time at

FCMC Clinic’s Urgent Care is located within the clinic building, at 1501 S. Main St., Charles City.
