Fulltime Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Now Available at Floyd County Medical Center
Orthopedics and sports medicine are now available fulltime at Floyd County Medical Center (FCMC) in Charles City.
The orthopedic team of Dr. Jeffrey Clark and nurse practitioner Brenda Cooper have transitioned from two days per week at FCMC to now five days per week, beginning Tuesday (08.19) .
FCMC CEO Dawnett Willis says, “We are thrilled to offer exceptional orthopedic and sports medicine care on a full-time basis. Having access to this caliber of specialized medical care right here in Charles City will be a tremendous resource for the communities we serve.”
Dr. Clark has been practicing orthopedics in the Cedar Falls area since 2000, focused on enabling patients to overcome their physical challenges related to injury or the aging process. He also previously served as the team physician for the University of Northern Iowa and Wartburg College.
An expert in sports-related injuries, Dr. Clark has been on the sidelines for more than 500 Division I football, basketball, and wrestling competitions. He recently celebrated his 20th year of performing the direct anterior approach to hip replacement in Iowa.
Cooper, a nurse practitioner, has more than two decades of experience in orthopedics and has worked closely with Dr. Clark for 25 years, which includes providing treatment and sideline care for collegiate athletes. Her clinical expertise and comprehensive knowledge allow her to assist Dr. Clark with pre- and post-op surgery care.
