Rescheduled Duck Dash Finally Held Sunday (08.17) at Charles City Pool

Mother Mature tried repeatedly to silence their quacks, but the ducks finally got to dash in Charles City.
The All-American Duck Dash was originally scheduled to go off of the Main Street Bridge in Charles City and race to the finish line on the Cedar River July 5th. However, after it was determined by safety officials that the river was too wild this summer with all of the rains locally and up north, the event was moved to Lions Field Swimming Pool in Charles City and rescheduled for Friday (08.15).
However, stormy weather moving through the area Friday forced the Charles City Chamber of Commerce to delay the duck dashing again to Sunday (08.17) evening, finally sending the ducks down the pool water slide in heats to determine the winners of cash prizes.
The third time was the charm for duck dashers, with Ellen Teepe claiming the top cash prize of $1,000, Victoria Mead taking the second-place prize of $200 and Lisa Miller winning the third place prize of $100.
The Duck Dash was a joint fundraiser for the Chamber and the Main Street Charles City program.
