USDA Announces $57 Million for Meat Processing Expansion

The USDA is rolling out over $57 million dollars to expand independent meat and poultry processing across forty states.

Announced by Vice President J.D. Vance and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, these grants aim to boost local processing capacity, foster competition, and strengthen the nation’s supply chain. For livestock producers, more local options mean greater market access and the confidence needed to rebuild the U.S. cattle herd.

This latest funding builds on previous program investments exceeding two hundred million dollars, which have already helped create thousands of jobs nationwide while offering independent businesses and local ranchers room to grow.
