Oelwein Woman Pleads Guilty to Prostitution, Gets Suspended Sentence
An Oelwein woman who pleaded guilty to prostitution will get probation.
38-year-old Ashley Rochford was arrested last month by the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office along with 29-year-old Nicole Burgos, also of Oelwein, on two counts each of prostitution, aggravated misdemeanors.
Court records show both were accused of taking money for sex on several occasions between January 1 and January 24. They were arrested following a “controlled prostitution transaction” with a sheriff’s deputy working with a man who had paid the women for sexual acts.
On Tuesday, Rochford pleaded not guilty, but on Wednesday, changed her pleas to guilty on both counts. She has received a suspended sentence and has been placed on probation for two years. She must also pay about $1,700 in fines.
Burgos has pleaded not guilty and her trial date is set for June 7th.
52-year-old Trent Fitzpatrick of Oelwein was also arrested as part of the prostitution investigation. He is charged with pimping, a Class D felony, after he allegedly received a “predetermined amount of cash for driving two female prostitutes” to a residence in Fort Atkinson on January 24th.
This week, Fitzpatrick entered a not guilty plea and his trial is also set for June 7th in Winneshiek County District Court.
