No Injuries in Separate Charles City Fires Friday (06.14)

There were no injuries in separate fires Friday (06.14) in Charles City.

The Charles City Fire Department says they were dispatched to a residential fire in the 300 block of 9th Avenue shortly after 1:30 am Friday. The Floyd and Colwell fire departments also responded to the scene where, prior to the arrival of firefighters, all occupants of the home were able to escape unharmed.

Crews made entry into the dwelling and were able to quickly knockdown and extinguish the flames, preventing it from spreading to other areas of the home.  After overhaul to ensure the home was safe, crews were able to pack up tools and return to their respective stations.

Just after 8:30 pm Friday night, CCFD responded to a vehicle on fire in the 3100 block of 210th Street.  At the scene, crews found a pickup fully engulfed. After extinguishing the flames, Chatfield towing removed the vehicle from the roadway.

All occupants of the vehicle were unharmed and were able to detach the hay cart before it ignited.
