NAMI 5K Run/Walk May 25th in Charles City

Registration is open for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) 5K run/walk in Charles City, reset for May 25th.

The event was originally scheduled last month, but was postponed due to weather. Jenna Haglund, a social worker for Charles City schools and a leader on their equity and wellness teams, says one of NAMI’s goals is to shed light on the emotional challenges for teenagers that were even more heightened by the pandemic.

No matter what your age, Haglund says your mental health can be improved greatly by simple daily activities.

Haglund says the NAMI run/walk is a free event and that it’s not about winning, it’s about the journey. The running and walking begins and ends at the high school starting at 4 p.m. on May 25th, the last day of school.
