The public is invited to the Memorial Day program Monday morning at the VFW in Charles City.
Organizer and Marine Corps veteran Phillip Knighten says activities to remember and honor fallen veterans begin at 10:30 a.m.
Knighten says lunch featuring smoked pork loin will follow the program.
Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs. In case of rain, the program and lunch will be moved inside the VFW banquet hall.
Knighten adds that Friday morning (05.27) , volunteers placed flags on the graves of veterans at both cemeteries in Charles City.
