Charles City Police on Alert for Start of School Year

Wednesday (08.24) marks the first day of classes for the Charles City School District.

Charles City Police Chief Hugh Anderson reminds motorists to be alert for kids walking to and from school and that it’s illegal to pass a stopped school bus, which unfortunately has been on the increase.

Anderson also cautions students to be alert when crossing streets and/or getting off buses. He adds that the CCPD will also increase their presence around the school campuses to start the school year.

In addition to Charles City, Wednesday is also the first day of school for Osage, Riceville, Rudd Rockford Marble Rock and North Fayette Valley school districts.
