Rudd Historical Society Fashion Show Fundraiser Saturday

It was just over nine months ago that a tornado demolished much of the building that housed the Rudd Historical Society in Rudd.

The front part of the structure and its contents were completely destroyed by the December 15th twister, but many artifacts survived in the backside of the building, even though it was heavily damaged.

The Society’s Joyce Navratil says the concrete at the old site could be rebuilt upon, but they’re keeping options open as to possible relocation of the historical society.

In their effort to re-establish a permanent home, the Rudd Historical Society will host the “Decades of Fashion Fundraiser Luncheon” Saturday at the Rudd Gym.

In addition to the fashion show and luncheon starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, there will be door prizes and a silent auction. Tickets are $10.

To learn more, visit the Rudd Iowa Historical Society Facebook page.

A fund to help the historical society replacement effort has been set up at First Security Bank. Donations can also be sent directly to the Rudd Historical Society.
