Funeral Services Set for Mason City Children Killed in House Fire

Funeral services for the four children killed in a north Iowa house fire will be held this Wednesday.

12-year-oldJohn-Mikal McLuer, 10-year-old Odin-Thor McLuer, 6-year-old Drako-Ragnar McLuer, and 3-year-old Phenix-Moon McLuer all died in the fire at their home at North Washington Avenue in Mason City on November 16th .

The Mason City Fire Department says a faulty power strip on the first floor of the home was the cause of the blaze that also injured another child, 11-year-old Ravan McLuer, as well as the father, 55-year-old John McLuer.

Fullerton Funeral Home of Mason City says memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 30th at the Lincoln School Gymnasium at 1625 South Pennsylvania Avenue. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 29th at the funeral home, located at 123 2nd Street Southeast in Mason City. 

A GoFundMe account has been established to help the family pay for funeral and other expenses. As of 5 p.m. Sunday, over $65,000 had been raised, surpassing the goal of $50,000.
