A Charles City woman reported missing Monday afternoon was found deceased.
In a Facebook post at about 2:30 p.m. Monday, the Charles City Police Department said 46-year-old Angela Fogarty went missing from the area of the Casa (or Clarkview) Apartments on Saturday. An updated post less than an hour later indicated that she had been located.
When Fogarty disappeared, she was not wearing shoes or a coat and she had no money or phone. Her body was found in the Calvary Cemetery across the street from the apartment complex.
The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Floyd County Search and Rescue, Floyd County Community Emergency Response Team, and Floyd County Emergency Management Agency, plus Charles City, Colwell, and Floyd Fire Departments, also assisted in locating Fogarty.
CCPD also thanked the National Guard for the use of their facilities for the staging as a headquarters for search efforts.
A memorial service for Fogarty has been set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 14th at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton. Additional details on her service are available on the obituary page of our station website.
