Iowa DOT Has Various Ways to Inform North Iowa Motorists of Road Conditions

The Iowa DOT has shown to be one of the leaders when it comes to keeping motorists informed of changing road conditions.

Pete Hjelmstad with the Mason City District office of the Iowa DOT says other states have modeled Iowa’s snow plow cameras.

Hjelmstad also recommends downloading the DOT’s enhanced 511ia app for the latest road conditions and construction, plus other new features that might help you plan your driving route.
