Charles City’s TLC Now Operating Open in New Home

The relocation of The Learning Center (TLC) childcare into their new home in Charles City is now official.

TLC was shut down for the last week-and-a-half to move operations from their previous location in the former Fareway grocery store, into the 1970’s section of the former Charles City middle school building. They reopened at 6:30 am Wednesday (01.04) morning.

TLC officials hosted current families and kids during an Open House Tuesday, which Center Coordinator Sue McDonald says was met with rave reviews.

McDonald says their old space was tight for kids as well as staff, which they will need to add more of in anticipation of serving more kids with their increased capacity.

TLC’s previous location served 86 children. The new TLC will eventually provide child care for up to 179 kids. 

TLC’s official new address is now 201 5th Avenue Suite #2 in Charles City.
