Citizens Adjusting to New Downtown Charles City Parking Restrictions

It’s been a little over a week since new parking restrictions went into effect in downtown Charles City.
Police Chief Hugh Anderson says residents have adjusted well to the new 90-minute parking limit for the two-block section of Main Street between Riverside Drive and Kelly Street.Â
Anderson says that while there are more restrictions for Main Street parking, changes approved by the City Council last month also make adjacent downtown parking lots more accessible all hours of the day.
The new parking restrictions went into effect when the City Street Department installed signs on Wednesday, December 29th.
