North Iowa Authorities Investigate Snowmobile Thefts

Authorities in north Iowa are investigating the theft of a pair of snowmobiles.

In a Facebook post, the Cerro Gordo Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help providing information on an incident that occurred at about 11:30 pm on December 9th. Two Polaris snowmobiles were taken from Mason City Power Sports and it appears the suspect had knowledge of how to get the snowmobiles started.

Security camera footage shows the suspect had a White 1997-2004 Ford F-150 Supercrew with a lift kit on it and aftermarket black spoke rims. The truck has a black lower strip-like lino covering on the bottom of the truck, which is jacked up and has wider tires.

One of the stolen snowmobiles is a purple and white colored, rare and noticeable sled, and the other snowmobile is red and white in color.

Any information on the vehicle or the theft are asked to contact the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office at (641) 421-3000 or Crime Stoppers of North Central Iowa (1-800-383-0088).
