Charles City Public Library Won’t Reopen Until Next Week

The Charles City Public Library will not reopen this week.

The library has been closed since February 7th while new tile flooring is being installed in the lobby. The original plan called for the project to be completed for the library to reopen Friday, February 24th. However, issues arose then pushed the reopening back to Tuesday, February 28th.

Monday (02.27), Library Director Annette Dean said that due to additional unforeseen delays, they are postponing the re-opening to next Monday, March 6th. She added that the library will continue to offer curbside pickup Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm for patrons who put books on reserve.

In anticipation of the flooring project being finished by next Monday, the library will host a casual open house from 10 am to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 7th.

Watch their Facebook page and website for updates.

The children’s room in the gallery adjacent to the library also got a new coat of paint during the closure.
