Floyd County Interchange Construction Could Resume in a Month

The new Highway 218/18/Avenue of the Saints interchange at Floyd hasn’t seen road construction activity since last November.

Pete Hjelmstad with the Mason City District Office of the Iowa DOT says when work resumes will be dependent on the weather, but it won’t likely be in March.

The east/southbound lanes of the interchange were completed in November and traffic has been open in both directions since. When reconstruction on the west/northbound lanes begins, it is expected to take until this November for completion.
