Polls Open Til 8 pm Tuesday for Nashua-Plainfield, North Butler, Hawkeye Community College Bond Votes

There will be a limited number of polling precincts in use for special election bond referendum votes Tuesday in the Nashua-Plainfield and North Butler school districts.

Floyd County Auditor Gloria Carr reminds all Floyd County residents within the Nashua-Plainfield and North Butler school districts to cast ballots at the Floyd County Fairgrounds in Charles City. Voters who would normally vote at the Marble Rock Library precinct have been consolidated to vote at the fairgrounds. The Marble Rock Library will not be open for voting. 

Chickasaw County elections officer Laura Wickham says Chickasaw County residents in the Nashua-Plainfield school district will cast ballots at Nashua City Hall.

Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 am to 8 pm. Any absentee ballots sent to voters by mail must be received at your County Auditor’s office by the time polls close Tuesday. 

Voters Tuesday in the Merged Area VII of Hawkeye Community College will also be deciding on a bond measure not to exceed $35 million to provide funds for improvements on the college’s Main Campus, plus future expansion that could include enhancements to existing facilities and/or construction of new facilities within Merged Area VII, which includes Benton, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Fayette, Floyd, Grundy and Tama counties.

North Butler:

SHALL THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC MEASURE BE ADOPTED? Shall the Board of Directors of the North Butler Community School District in the Counties of Butler and Floyd, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $12,600,000 to provide funds to construct, furnish and equip an addition to the junior/senior high school building and improve the site; to remodel, repair, improve, furnish and equip the existing buildings? 

 

Nashua-Plainfield:

SHALL THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC MEASURE BE ADOPTED? Shall the Board of Directors of the Nashua-Plainfield Community School District in the Counties of Chickasaw, Bremer, Butler and Floyd, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $3,000,000 to provide funds to construct a baseball/softball athletic complex, including concession and restroom areas, and improve the site? 

 

Hawkeye Community College:

SHALL THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC MEASURE BE ADOPTED? Shall the Hawkeye Community College (Merged Area VII) in the Counties of Benton, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Fayette, Floyd, Grundy and Tama, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue its School Bonds in an amount not to exceed $35,000,000 to provide funds to defray the costs of any one or more of the following purposes: to improve its Main Campus and construct, remodel, expand, erect, equip and furnish buildings thereon and construct, acquire, improve, expand, remodel, furnish, and equip new or existing facilities within Merged Area VII?
