New Floyd Interchange Traffic Pattern in Effect as of Friday Morning

The new east/southbound lanes of the Highway 218/18/27/Avenue of the Saints interchange at Floyd were completed in November and traffic has been open in both directions since.

That was until Friday (03.24), when the traffic pattern switched to a head-to-head pattern in those new east/southbound lanes.

Pete Hjelmstad with the Mason City District Office of the Iowa DOT describes how traffic will flow through that area.

Reconstruction on the new west/northbound lanes, which will also include a new overpass bridge, plus new entrance and exit ramps, is expected to be completed by this November.
