Spring Cleanup Dates Set for Charles City Residents

Dates have been set for Spring Cleanup in Charles City.

Once again, it will be a dropoff event of one truckload per household from Saturday, April 29th through Saturday, May 6th. City Administrator Steve Diers told the City Council last week that staff will be available at the Shaw Avenue dumpsite to help citizens unload from 9 am to 7 pm weekdays and from 7 am to 7 pm weekends.

They will also again enlist community helpers to assist those who are physically unable or don’t have the means to haul away their discarded items.

Proof of Charles City residency is required to drop off items at the dump site.

Charles City Police Chief Hugh Anderson also reminds residents, that until Spring Cleanup days begin, now’s not the time to set out items for pick up.

Anderson says officers and code enforcement will be alerting those who have set out trash too early to have the items removed from the curb.
