NIACC Breaks Ground for New Charles City Career Academy

Construction of the new Career Academy at the NIACC Center in Charles City is scheduled to start Monday (04.17).

Friday, NIACC President Dr. Steve Schulz led groundbreaking ceremonies for the project, which will be added on to the south side of their existing Charles City NIACC Center, just east of Hy-Vee.

Schulz says getting to this point also took a collaborative effort by the various academic institutions involved.         

In addition to Charles City, the Career Academy partnership also includes the Nashua-Plainfield, Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock, Riceville, North Butler, Clarksville and Osage school districts. 

Adding the career academy onto the existing building will eventually mean closing off access to the current NIACC center. However, Schulz says they will still offer classes at a location yet to be determined.
