Northeast Iowa Motorcycle Crash Kills One

One person is dead following a weekend motorcycle crash in northeast Iowa.

The Iowa State Patrol says the wreck occurred at about 6 pm Saturday night just west of Hazelton in Buchanan County. A motorcycle operated by 50-year-old Bradley Johnson of Hazleton was eastbound on County road C-57 when he lost control of the bike, which then entered the soft shoulder, ejecting both Johnson and his passenger, 46-year-old Sara Johnson, also of Hazelton.

Bradley Johnson died in the crash while Sara Johnson was airlifted by Lifeguard medical helicopter to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City with unspecified injuries.

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office, Hazleton Fire Department and Oelwein Ambulance also responded to the scene.
