North Iowans Win $40,000 with Iowa Lottery Scratch Games

A pair of north Iowans recently won a combined $40,000 playing Iowa Lottery scratch games.

Lottery officials say Robert Detmering Jr. of Osage won the eighth prize of $30,000 in the “Premiere” scratch game. He purchased his winning ticket at Kwik Star on Main Street in Osage.

Premiere is a $30 scratch game that features 17 top prizes of $300,000 and 84 prizes of $30,000.

Tammy Engelhardt of Waterloo won the third top prize of $10,000 in the Iowa Lottery’s “Red Hot” scratch game. She purchased her winning ticket at Casey’s at 1604 LaPorte Road in Waterloo.

Red Hot is a $2 scratch game that features five top prizes of $10,000.
